Difficult Installation
Snap ring retainer is a good "idea" but its installation is extremely difficult due to the extremely short tube left below the ring retainers location and the spring factor of the retainer ring itself. Also the noise factor when the unit is first turned on is EXTREMELY loud! After quite a bit of use it's finally beginning to quiet down. Very disturbing and installsers should be alerted!

DOES THE JOB
THIS IS MY SECOND INCINKERATOR..THE FIRST ONE LASTED 12 YEARS AND WAS 1/3 HP..SINCE THE BADGER 5 COULD BE USED AS A DIRECT REPLACEMENT WITHOUT CHANGING THE FLANGE I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE THE EASIEST OPTION..WHEN I REMOVED THE OLD UNIT IT WAS ALL RUSTED ON THE BOTTOM AND SHOWED SIGNS OF LEAKAGE BUT FOR THE MONEY..IT DOES THE JOB

The Badger 5 handles everything
We have a large home and use the disposal constantly. We had a Badger 5 for ten years and loved it. When it finally had problems we replaced it with another Badger 5.

Great product!
We installed this disposal in our double sink along with a 3/4 hp disposer in the other side. Our thought was that the smaller Badger would take care of smaller jobs-but I'm convinced that it has plenty of power for most any need.

Not as durable as previous models.
The newer Badger 5 is visually appealing but is very poorly constructed. It is best suited for apartments.

Here's hoping replacement does better
My old Badger developed severe rust and corroded 2 large holes that spewed water underneath the sink after about 13 years of use. Hope this replacement lasts just as long (or longer), but doesn't corrode as badly. Loved the price and how it was super easy to install.
